I have two fantastic workshops coming up in May!

First up, I’m excited to be working with Crafting Community for their amazing family weekend in sunny Palm Springs, May 1-3, 2015. I’ll be teaching poolside crafts alongside an impressive group of talented colleagues.  “A celebration of family and community, Crafting Community’s acclaimed annual retreat is designed to shift gears from the hectic hustle of daily life and bring families closer together through the power of art and recreation. And then on May 17th I’ll be a hosting a Himmeli Mobile Workshop in the charming Meng & Mahar Studio in Los Angeles’ downtown historic core!

Join us in learning a vintage Nordic craft as we create and construct minimal, modern mobiles – perfect for your home, office or dorm! Himmeli mobiles originated in Finland as a traditional harvest decoration created from natural wheat or rye straw. We’ll be making updated versions in bright neon shades, ornamented with happy ombré-hued tassels.

Each participant will learn techniques, tips and tricks to successfully create their own modern himmeli mobile and decorative tassels. All tools and materials will be provided to begin your mobile along with extra goodies to continue crafting at home. Visit the studio website to learn more and reserve your seat!
