I’m delighted to partnering again with the fine I’m delighted to partnering again with the fine folks at @appellationhotels for their Crafted program, offering a workshop that celebrates our Northern California community. Registration is now open for my Embroidered Sonoma County Postcards Workshop - to be held at the lovely Bricoleur Vineyards in Windsor, CA on April 5th.✨🍷✨ I’ve pulled together some of my favorite vintage travel postcards (highlighting sites and cities across the North Bay), digitally restored and reprinted them - making them the perfect little canvases for our embroidery adventures. 🪡 Instruction will guide you through best practices for stitching on paper, including the transfer of imagery and patterns, and clever finishing techniques. The resulting set can be displayed as reminders of actual or imaginary adventures, or sent to loved ones as deliverable mail art. 📬 As with all Crafted at Appellation workshops, you can anticipate an engaging hands on event paired with wonderful wines (thank you @bricoleurvineyards!) and delicious bites from @chefcharliepalmer. This beautiful palette from @dmc_embroidery was the perfect companion for today’s sold out embroidery workshop at the @sfbotanicalgarden. Warmest thanks to the roomful of curious creatives who filled the room - I appreciated your enthusiasm, kindness and humor. 🩷🪡🌸 I’ll be back at the Garden on March 8th for a Felt Magnolia Flower Workshop. This elegant tubular knot perfectly highlights this peony's floral fringe. (Swipe left to compare the two!) ✨A little magical realism for your Monday mornin ✨A little magical realism for your Monday morning, in the form of heavy aroma lifting from the petals of a rose. I’m enjoying working my way across my sampler designed for this Saturday’s workshop at the San Francisco Botanical Garden. We’ll explore the concept of floriography - a weirdly wonderful pastime popularized by the Victorians - in which symbolic meaning was assigned to all manner of botanicals AND THEN we’ll embroidered over a selection of fabric printed vintage botanical illustrations. 🪡🌹 Join us at @sfbotanicalgarden! Do you ever have one of those mornings where all y Do you ever have one of those mornings where all you want to see is people's pets in your social media feeds? 🙋‍♂️ (If I'm being honest, that's most of my mornings.) So posting a mid-week Bunny break seems in order. Here we see my sweet beastie in the midst of her diligent and daily telepathy exercises – willing me into the living room for a cuddle on the couch. It's the shadow of her ever wagging tail that does me in every time. 🥰 Sending you love and light today, my friends.
