If you’re a crafter, talking about winter holiday projects in July isn’t out the ordinary - because we know beautifully crafted goods take time. At least this is the logic I’m using to justify sharing this sweet reindeer surprise ball with you in September! 😆 If you’d like to get a head start on some seasonal cheer - consider joining me in the classroom at @daisys_mercantile in Alameda, CA on Thursday evening, September 26. This vintage party favor can be dressed for any occasion - imagine the egg shape of Rudolph’s head reimagined as a grinning witch or an even a roast turkey with drumsticks! Let’s welcome autumn with a day of seasonal handcraft! In October I’m heading to Port Townsend, WA - a charming Victorian seaport town about two hours north of Seattle. Destination? The charming Bazaar Girls Yarn Shop & Fibre Emporium! Our afternoon project focuses on recreating fall and winter foliage from fabric. Learn to draft patterns from pressed leaves and then recreate wired and posable versions from linen cotton textiles. 🍂 Tie oak leaves to napkins on your Thanksgiving table, tuck fruiting holly under the ribbon of a wrapped gift, or hang a cluster of everlasting mistletoe in your doorway. This workshop will give you a running start at finishing these in time for holiday celebrations!

Three years ago my family traded in our metropolis of millions for a little town of ten thousand in the heart of California Wine Country. Its laid back charm, welcoming community and gorgeous scenery have completely won us over. 😊 And now that we've settled in - I’d like to invite you to visit!
