We had the pleasure of joining friends last weeken We had the pleasure of joining friends last weekend for a butter and cheese-making class with the renowned Sheana Davis and Ben Sessions of The Epicurean Connection. While Sonoma Valley is best known for its world-class wines🍷, dairy has long played a vital role in the region’s agricultural heritage🧀. It was a joy to be students for the day—learning just how simple (and satisfying) it can be to make delicious cheese from scratch, and leaving with the tools and inspiration to keep creating at home!

I’m a big fan of my friend Cathe Holden—as I k I’m a big fan of my friend Cathe Holden—as I know many of you are, too! And I’m so delighted she’ll be joining me this September for my Well Crafted Sonoma creative retreat, where she’ll be guiding participants through the creation of this champignon hand-stitched woodland coat. 🍄🏆We’re leaning into autumnal vibes with our retreat projects, and the cozy charm of Cathe’s design leaves mushroom for personalization. Coordinating classes and activities for this special week in my hometown has quickly become my creative focus this spring—and I can’t wait to share more! ❤️ (Do I think funghi puns are funny? Morel less. 😆🤪)
This past Saturday the @sonomacommunitycenter held This past Saturday the @sonomacommunitycenter held their 15th annual Trashion Fashion Runway Show - a celebration of creativity, community and sustainability. 🙌 This spectacular annual fundraiser invites participants to dream up and design wearable art from recycled materials—and then strut their stuff down the runway in two sold-out shows! It was an honor to be invited back again this year to serve on the judging panel - a job, I now know gets more challenging each year. Hats off to each and every entry! ✨ @trashionfashionsonoma winners will be announced at the Center’s Trash Bash on April 26.✨
This past Saturday was pure Sonoma County magic. ✨ My partners at @appellationhotels do such a beautiful job pairing creative workshops with spectacular venues—complete with incredible wine and food. Warmest thanks to @rsvineyards for hosting us in the Cellar Door and pouring tastings while I shared my passion for embellishing vintage postcards with embroidery. The @chefcharliepalmer team served up delicious bites that brought the whole experience together beautifully. 🪡🍷🍴

I’ll be leading another Crafted at Appellation workshop in June in which we will embroider a vintage Sonoma County map printed on fabric. I can't recommend these events highly enough and hope you’ll join us!
It’s been fun searching for the vintage postcard It’s been fun searching for the vintage postcards we’ll be using in my workshop this weekend. From antique shops to online archives, I've unearthed images that celebrate residential roads in Petaluma, the Santa Rosa courthouse, resorts along the Russian River, iconic Sonoma vineyards and more. Back in my studio, I digitally restore and reprint them, so that every participant has an identical set as we learn to embellish them with embroidery.

This Saturday, April 12, you can join us at the lovely Rodney Strong Vineyards in Healdsburg, CA for my Embroidered Sonoma County Postcards Workshop! Spend a couple of creative hours with me, and enjoy @rsvineyards wines and delicious bites from @chefcharliepalmer. Presented in partnership with the Crafted at Appellation program from @appellationhotels. Follow the link in my profile for complete detail details and registration. 😊🍷🪡
